(RightWingAmericans.com)- United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo confirmed last week that President Donald Trump will hold the Chinese Communist Party accountable for the outbreak of the coronavirus. Speaking to Breitbart News Saturday on SiriusXM, Pompeo explained how the federal government is looking at options on how to do it.
Pompeo also explained how he is coordinating efforts with his global counterparts, ensuring that the response to China is unified and effective, and developing “precise mechanisms” to ensure the communist nation can’t work around it.
“I don’t want to get out in front of what President Trump will ultimately decide, but I think we all know in this administration that we have to make sure that something like this can never happen again,” Pompeo told Breitbart.

“That means deterrence. That means setting up processes. The president has already stopped funding to the WHO so that we can evaluate that and figure out which pieces of the WHO might actually work and which pieces don’t so that we can deliver good outcomes and keep Americans safe and make sure this doesn’t happen again.”
Pompeo added that there will “come a time” when the United States can evaluate what it is that needs to be done, and how to ensure they past “real costs” for their efforts to conceal the outbreak.
“You know this, we say this all the time inside the United States but around the world too, we have to hold nations accountable,” he added.
China has consistently refused to allow experts from overseas into the country to analyze the conditions that led to the outbreak. Not only that, but the communist country is believed to have withheld important data that showed how the virus can be transmitted between humans. Had China closed its borders and shared all the information it had about the virus sooner, the global outbreak may have been avoided.
The American intelligence community also confirmed that the virus came from Wuhan, China. Both Pompeo and President Trump have also indicated that they have seen evidence that suggests the virus came from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, a lab that studies viruses.
“President Trump is committed to doing that,” Pompeo added, in reference to taking action against China. “The precise mechanisms we will choose. I want to make sure he gets fully briefed to make those decisions.”
