Joe Biden Addresses Sexual Assault Allegations, Saying ‘This Never Happened.’

(RightWingAmericans.Com)- “This never happened.”
Those were the first three words that Democratic nominee Joe Biden uttered in direct response to the sexual allegations his former staffer, Tara Reade, brought against him recently. To this point, Biden’s campaign had denied them, but the candidate himself remained silent.
That all changed Friday morning, when addressed the allegations head on in a released statement. His comments read:
“While the details of these allegations of sexual harassment and sexual assault are complicated, two things are not complicated. One is that women deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, and when they step forward they should be heard, not silenced. The second is that their stories should be subject to appropriate inquiry and scrutiny.
“Responsible news organizations should examine and evaluate the full and growing record of inconsistencies in her story, which has changed repeatedly in both small and big ways.
“But this much bears emphasizing. She has said she raised some of these issues with her supervisor and senior staffers from my office at the time. They — both men and women — have said, unequivocally, that she never came to them and complained or raised issues. News organizations that have talked with literally dozens of former staffers have not found one — not one — who corroborated her allegations in any way. Indeed, many of them spoke to the culture of an office that would not have tolerated harassment in any way — as indeed I would not have.”
In an interview with MSNBC, Biden stressed that he’s “saying unequivocally, it never, never happened. It didn’t. It never happened.”
Biden said he hasn’t reached out to Reade directly, and he doesn’t remember her making a complaint back in 1993.
Biden’s statement on the matter was a carefully prepared one. It reflects his desire to both speak directly to women and sympathize with other accusers and victims, while at the same time saying Reade is lying.
Biden is leaning on the word of his former staffers and the investigative work news media organizations, such as the New York Times, did into the allegations. But what he hasn’t done, just yet, is open up official records that could shed further light on the situation.
And that’s exactly what Reade is calling for him to do.
On Thursday, Reade said she filed a complaint to the Senate personnel office in 1993. That complaint, she says, would most likely be in Biden’s senatorial staff personnel records, which are currently being stored and sealed at the University of Delaware.
Those records will remain sealed until two years after Biden’s been out of public life, but Reade is calling for them to be unsealed now. On Thursday, she said:
“I’m calling for the release of the documents held by the University of Delaware that contain Biden’s staff personnel records because I believe it will have my complaint form, as well as my separation letter and other documents. Maybe if other staffers that have tried to file complaints would come to light — why are they under seal? And why won’t they be released to the public?”
Reade said these documents would prove that Biden’s other senior staffers lied about Reade ever coming forward with allegations of sexual assault in 1993, when she was on Biden’s senatorial staff.
