150 Experts Say Only Solution To Pandemic Is Another Full-Scale Shutdown

(RightWingAmericans.com)- With coronavirus cases exploding almost seemingly out of control, medical experts are urging politicians to shut the country down completely and start all over again.

According to Johns Hopkins University data, there have been more than 4 million confirmed coronavirus cases and almost 145,000 deaths in the United States alone. The only way to control the pandemic at this point, according to some, is to start from scratch and go into lockdown mode like most of the country did in the spring.

A group of 150 prominent scientists, medical experts, nurses, teachers and others in the U.S. signed a letter sent to politicians explaining their position on the matter. The letter reads:

“Right now we are on a path to lose more than 200,000 American lives by November 1st. Yet, in many states people can drink in bars, get a haircut, eat inside a restaurant, get a tattoo, get a massage, and do myriad other normal, pleasant, but non-essential activities.”

According to mortality statisticians at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, coronavirus is on the brink of becoming the leading cause of death in the United States.

At a town hall hosted by CNN on Thursday, Microsoft’s co-founder Bill Gates issued some harrowing words:

“Infection rates in the U.S. are deeply troubling because the summer, when it’s warmer, when people are outdoors more, actually it’s easier to reduce the infection than it’s going to be in the fall. So, we’re in a very tough situation.”

Some positive news is that in four states that have experienced huge recent outbreaks, cases seem to be plateauing, at least a little.

“We’re already starting to see some plateauing in these critical four states that have suffered under the last four weeks — so Texas, California Arizona and Florida, those major metros and throughout their counties,” White House Coronavirus Task Force Coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx said.

She said the situation in those states is still “very serious and it’s very real,” comparing it to what New York was going through this spring.

Even though there’s a glimpse of positivity in those states, they are fall from over the hump. And other states such as Missouri, Hawaii and New Mexico are having a very tough time dealing with recent outbreaks of their own.

In the American Northwest, communities are starting to shut down again to stop the spread. Washington state, for example, recently tightened restrictions placed on fitness centers, bars, restaurants, weddings, funerals and movie theaters. As Washington Governor Jay Inslee said recently:

“If we let the virus get even more control, it will have an even more devastating impact over the long term in our economy, and certainly in our health, and the very lives of our loved ones.”

A full-scale shutdown of the country similar to that in the spring would be very tough for many people to handle. Some wonder whether people would even abide by the shutdown orders, as they have grown tired of remaining inside. But others feel like there’s no other choice.
